The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced recalls of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. For a complete list of recalled products, visit www.cpsc.gov.

Units: About 3.4 million

Distributor: IKEA Home Furnishings, of Conshohocken, Pa.

Description: This recall involves roller blinds that do not have a tension device attached to the bead chain, all Roman blinds and all roll-up blinds.

Hazard: The blinds pose a strangulation hazard to young children.

Incidents/injuries: A 1-year-old girl became entangled in the inner cord of an IKEA Roman blind and strangled. A 1½-year-old boy and a 2-year-old boy suffered near strangulations.

Sold at: IKEA stores nationwide from January 1998 through June 2009 for $5 to $55.

Remedy: Return blinds to any IKEA store for a refund. Consumers who have roller blinds with a tension device attached to the bead chain should make sure the tension device is installed into the wall or floor.

Contact: Call 888-966-4532 or visit www.ikea-usa.com.
