FYI: Speak up during National Infant Immunization Week

Trisha Korioth, Staff Writer

  • For Your Information

The Academy is speaking out about the importance of infant immunizations on several fronts during National Infant Immunization Week, April 16-23.

For six days, the AAP Voices blog will share submissions from AAP members that address reasons for immunization, including caring for your baby and community. Visit http://bit.ly/21JYnsu.

Pediatrician blogs will complement parent stories that “Tell Us Why You Vaccinate!” shared on www.HealthyChildren.org. Throughout the week, parents will share personal stories and testimonials on the topic, sparking conversations about how families and children benefit.

Pediatricians also are encouraged to share messages on social media pages using the hashtags #whyIvax and #vaccineswork. Follow @AmerAcadPeds for the latest social media activities.

Observed annually by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and health organizations since 1994, National Infant Immunization Week coincides with World Immunization Week, an initiative of the World Health Organization.
