The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. Consumers can submit reports of harm to CPSC’s searchable online product safety database at www.SaferProducts.gov. A searchable food and medical product recall database is available at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/default.htm.

Units: About 183,000

Hazard: The beard on the Artiste and the knob on the Volume pacifiers can come off, and children can choke on them. The air holes on the Volume and Panic pacifier guards are too small.

Description: Three styles of Fred & Friends Chill Baby pacifiers are recalled: the Artiste with a black plastic beard and mustache, Volume with a black volume control knob and Panic with a red panic button. The Artiste’s UPC is 728987021282, the Volume style’s UPC is 728987020599 and the Panic style’s UPC is 728987020605. The pacifiers are plastic and silicone rubber.

Sold at: Department stores, gift, drug, toy, baby product, grocery and home decorating stores, and hospital and museum gift shops nationwide, and various websites from April through December 2013 for about $10.

Remedy: Return pacifiers to Fred & Friends for a $12 refund. Fred & Friends is providing a postage paid envelope to return the pacifiers.
