The second footnote in the Recommended Childhood Immunization Schedule United States, January-December 2000 that appeared in the January AAP News included some incorrect information. The line that begins, “Infants born to HBsAg-positive mothers” should read as follows: “Infants born to HBsAg-positive mothers should receive hepatitis B vaccine and 0.5 mL hepatitis B immune globulin (HBIG) within 12 hours of birth at separate sites. The 2nd dose is recommended at 1 to 2 months of age and the 3rd dose at 6 months of age.”
An incorrect phone number was given in a January AAP News article about the train-the-trainers workshop “Early Brain and Child Development, from Science to Practice.” For more information, call Angela Lipinski, AAP Department of Education, at (800) 433-9016, ext. 7896.
