Pediatrics & AAP Grand Rounds Redesign
Earlier this year, both Pediatrics and AAP Grand Rounds unveiled newly refreshed and redesigned web sites.

The redesign was undertaken to increase the readability and usability of the sites and to incorporate several end-user orientated tools. In particular, the sign-up process for eTOCs and content alerts has been simplified, making it easier for you to stay on top of the information that your end-users need.
In addition to enhancing the navigation of the site, Pediatrics has also added a Community Pediatrics section to the Homepage, including a new monthly blog http://pediatricsblog.org by the editor of Pediatrics highlighting what’s new and notable in the journal.
Additional information on the redesign and upcoming plans for the Pediatrics web site can be found in the commentary by Joe Puskarz, Senior Managing Editor, in the January issue 123:1.
A tutorial of the online tools is available from the Pediatrics Homepage. AAP Grand Rounds Homepage also has a link to additional information regarding their redesign and new features.
New Editor for Pediatrics in 2009
The January 2009 issue of Pediatrics ushered in a new editorial team for the journal, when after a long and distinguished career as the editor of Pediatrics, Dr. Jerold F. Lucey decided to retire.
During his 30+ year term as editor, the journal expanded it’s reach across the globe—including translated editions in Chinese, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Turkish—and became the journal with the highest circulation and most citations in the field. His leadership has been influential in establishing the journal as the authoritative and trusted resource for pediatric research and information that it is today, and he will continue to be involved with the journal as an emeritus editor.
Starting with the January issue, Dr. Lewis R. First (University of Vermont College of Medicine) will be taking over as editor of the journal, with the assistance of Dr. Virginia A. Moyer (Baylor College of Medicine) as deputy editor. They will continue to increase the quality and relevancy of the publication, while expanding the online offerings of the journal by adding additional tools to make it easy for end-users to stay current.
Additional information regarding the transition appeared in the January issue 123:1 of the journal.
