Pediatrics made a superlative showing in the 2013 Main Residency Match, filling 99.2% of all positions offered (a jump from the 2012 fill rate of 98.3%). Categorical pediatrics filled 99.6% of all positions, an increase from last year’s 98.7%.
U.S. seniors continued to choose pediatrics in high numbers, filling 69.9% of all offered positions.
Internal medicine-pediatrics filled 99.2% of all offered positions (compared to 95.0% in 2012); family medicine filled 95.9% (compared to 94.6% in 2012); and internal medicine filled 98.6% (compared to 97.4% in 2012).
