About a third of high school seniors have reported using an illicit drug sometime in the past year. Encourage teens in your community to learn the facts about drug abuse during National Drug Facts Week, Jan. 28-Feb. 3. The week serves to educate teens about the science behind the risks of drug use, with the aim to prepare them to make good decisions and share information with peers.
The National Institute on Drug Abuse offers resources for the community and teens. Teens and their schools are encouraged to participate in Drug Facts Chat Day, Jan. 31. To register, visit http://drugfactsweek.drugabuse.gov/chat/index.php. Download resources for your practice at http://drugfactsweek.drugabuse.gov/resources.php.
