Bill Carlyle, M.D., FAAP, of Clinton, Miss., died Oct. 21 of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was 40.
Dr. Carlyle was vice president of the AAP Mississippi Chapter in 1997 when the state received the Outstanding Chapter Award. In 1998, he served as treasurer and was a former chair of the chapter's accident prevention committee.
Born in Okinawa, Japan, Dr. Carlyle received his medical degree in 1986 from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, and completed his residency there in 1989. That year, he began his practice at Children's Medical Group, Jackson, and also joined Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, serving as chief of pediatrics from 1997 to 1998.
