Sprague Whipple Hazard, M.D., FAAP, a pioneer in adolescent medicine, died Feb. 9 in a Greenfield, Mass., nursing home. He was 80.
Dr. Hazard, of Shelburne, Mass., served on the AAP Executive Board from 1974 to 1980. He was chairman of the Speak Up for Children Committee in 1979, the International Year of the Child. Speak Up was the Academy's first major public awareness campaign on the value of preventive health care.
