Infant nutrition pioneer Norman Kretchmer, M.D., Ph.d., FAAP, died Dec., 20, 1995, at age 72, of kidney failure due to myeloid metaplasia, his family reported.
"Norman Kretchmer was one of the most influential nutritionists/pediatricians that this country has ever produced," said William Klish, M.D., AAP Committee on Nutrition chairperson. He worked with Dr. Kretchmer on the committee and knew him for 15 years.
