E. Maurice Wakeman, M.D., FAAP, of Guilford, Conn., alternate AAP District I chairperson, died Oct. 12 in Houston at age 65.
He succumbed to complications from interventional treatment of a malignant brain tumor. The tumor had been diagnosed about a year ago and had recurred despite surgical procedures and radiation. "Maurice and (his wife) Judith attended and greatly enjoyed the recent meeting of the Pediatric Travel Club in Montreal," said former AAP President Howard Pearson, M.D., personal friend of Dr. Wakeman.
